Hancock Farm was purchased by Rickey and Sandy Evangelista in 1985 soon after their daughter Beth was born.
After purchasing the farm they began to milk cows and sell the raw milk to a larger company. After a chain of misfortunate events it was clear that the farm was not going to make it much longer.
At this point Beth had begun her sophomore year in High school and needed a Supervised Agricultural Experience for her FFA project. That is when the family started to sell the raw milk to small dairy businesses near Boston MA, and then expanded it into a home delivery business of vat pasteurized dairy products.
In 2001 they started their first route with 10 customers. Currently Hancock Farm averages about 100 delivery customers a year and can be found at Farmers Markets across Central MA.
