It is official after a long two years we are making farmstead cheese!
On April 15, 2013 the farm pasteurized 55 gallons of milk from their own cows to processes into Cheese. The Milk separated into curds and whey after adding the cultures and on the 16th they made their first batch of farmstead Ayrshire Fresh Farmers’ Cheese. The cheese is a soft spreadable cheese similar to a cream cheese or sour cream. It is perfect for bagels, crackers, chips, backed potatoes and much more.
The cheese is available in a variety of flavors. The Plain cheese will have no added flavor except for salt as natural preservative. Our Herb and Garlic cheese is a combination of thyme, parsley and garlic mixed throughout. One will have Chives on the outside allowing the flavor to permeate the cheese. The Cracked Black Pepper cheese will be similar only with cracked black pepper on the outside. The last flavor that is available at this time is Bari. This flavor has sun dried tomatoes, basil, garlic, parsley and thyme all mixed right into the cheese.
Cheese will be available to Home delivery customers, at farmers markets and soon through the web site.
